You are invited to join Mistress Eikaterine at 7PM on Thursday for an online workshop on building and repairing youth combat weapons via this video conference link: https://meet.google.com/xru-gzfn-ccq
This is a great opportunity for all marshals-in-training, as well as full marshals who would like a refresher on the process of constructing youth swords, pole arms, and all of the other weapon types you’ll find on the youth list — as well as how to repair or strip and rebuild old weapons whose tape has torn or foam has worn out.
Although you can attend without them, the workshop will be most instructive if you have materials to hand so you can practice making a weapon during the session.
The standard ingredients are as follows:
• A core of 3/4″ – 1″ PEX tubing (bought as straight lengths, not curved from a roll) or else a length of 3/4″ – 1″ rattan.
• Strapping tape, or CPVC end caps that fit inside your PEX tubing.
• Pipe foam, either 1/2″ thickness or enough of 3/8″ thickness to wrap two layers.
• Two contrasting colors of duct tape.
• Scissors or a craft knife for cutting tape and foam.
• A hand saw to cut the PEX or rattan to length.
If you have old run-down weapons, you can usually salvage the core and apply new foam and tape, so bring those as well.
If it’s been a while since you’ve read the weapons specs in our rulebook, you can find those here:

I look forward to seeing you there!
