Division 3
Weapons (marked with two bands of contrasting tape around the blade)
- Sword / two handed weapons 5 feet and under
- PVC schedule 40, 3/4-inch inner diameter
- Endcapped and wrapped in two layers of fiber tape
- Covered with ½-inch closed cell foam, then wrapped loosely in duct tape
(do not compress the foam)
- Thrusting tip made of closed cell foam, no smaller than
diameter of blade and 2 inches past the cap.
- Two handed weapons ( Great Swords and Pole Arms )
- PVC schedule 40, 1-inch Inner Diameter pvc
- Endcapped and wrapped in two layers of fiber tape
- Covered with ½-inch closed cell foam, then wrapped loosely in duct tape
(do not compress the foam)
- Thrusting tips/butt spikes made of closed-cell foam, no smaller than
diameter of blade and 2 inches past the cap.
- Wrapped foam or hose works well for guards.
Do not use pvc cross pieces.
Shield
- Mid-weight shield with covered edges.
Gear
- One piece hockey helmet with metal face mask, chin strap and aventail
- midweight gorget covering larynx and cervical vertebrae
- Solar plexus protection
- Kidney belt.
- Sports gloves with minimum ½" padding.
- Hard elbow and knee pads.
- Long pants.
- Closed - toe shoes.
- Gender appropriate, rigid groin protection or padded gambeson or
skirt at least as heavy as light leather.
